COVID-19 TUTORING GUIDELINES
Screening Before Attending Lessons
An email will be sent to both the tutor and the client within 24 hours of each session to ensure that all parties are healthy. Any party who experience COVID-19 related symptoms on the day of the lesson cannot meet in-person and must reside to online tutoring.
Physical Distancing
The workspace should be arranged to ensure that the student and the tutor are at least two metres apart. If the proposed space does not allow for physical distancing, an alternative location is recommended.
Masks Recommendation
We recommend that tutors and students wear a mask for in-person tutoring sessions, especially where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Tutoring Outdoors
Whenever possible, try to arrange tutoring sessions outdoors.
Individual Learning Supplies
Do not share stationary or supplies in order to minimize cross-contamination.
A comfortable learning environment
Tutors and students will never be put in a tutoring environment where they feel unsafe as a result of the lack of COVID-19 safety measures. Therefore, both the tutor and the student have the right to refuse the tutoring session if COVID-19 safety protocols are not followed.
Adherence to BC CDC Guidelines
We ask both our tutors and clients to adhere to the BC Centre of Disease Control Guidelines, as follows:
- Anyone who has had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days must self-isolate at home. Symptoms include fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and new muscle aches or headache.
- Anyone under the direction of the provincial health officer to self-isolate must follow those instructions.
- Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada, or who is a contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case, must self-isolate for 14 days and monitor for symptoms
